CHILDREN AND FAMILIES DATA PROFILE
The Children and Families Data Profile, a community indicator report,is sponsored by First 5 Monterey County to focus on the well being of children ages 0-5 and their families. It is used by the Commission to assist with strategic planning, as the report identifies important strengths and needs in the county in relation to the Commission's priority areas. Indicators for existing data sources relating to Child Development, Child Health and Family Functioning have been selected to highlight the status of children and families in Monterey County.
The type of data reported includes: demographics, poverty, childcare affordability, child care workforce characteristics, prenatal care, teen births, weight and physical fitness, oral health, domestic violence and child abuse. Where possible trend data was used. It is hoped that these reports will prove useful to service agencies, funders and policy makers interested in improving the lives of the children and families in Monterey County.
