The Alisal Union School District recently presented their cutting-edge programming to serve migrant families with children ages 0 to 5 at the National Migrant Education Conference in Portland, Oregon. The presentation highlighted innovative ways the district, in partnership with state and local organizations, is increasing access to services for migrant families with young children. The presentation highlighted First 5 Monterey County funded playgroups where parents and children learn side-by-side, a model designed to lay the groundwork for families to become actively involved in their child's healthy growth, development, and learning.
