Our Learning Groups and specialized trainings offer practitioners across disciplines the opportunities to connect, share resources, and develop key skills for working with young children and their families
REDI for Reflective Practice is an interactive training series covering the reflective relationship and parallel process, group facilitation skills, case consultation, and sustaining REDI practice. It is designed for supervisors, managers, and/or providers who work with children and families prenatal-to-five and are interested in developing reflective practice facilitation skills. Throughout, a REDI framework (Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) is woven into every session as an explicit throughline, so participants leave the series with a concrete plan for sustaining equity-centered reflective practice. This 16-hour, four-part curriculum will meet training criteria for Reflective Practice Facilitator I (RPF I) endorsement under the California Compendium of Training Guidelines.
Intimate Partner Violence is one of the most common experiences of toxic stress exposure for young children. Because of the complexity of the legal, cultural and societal beliefs regarding relationships, roles, responsibilities and our sometimes-misguided conversations that miss the dynamics of power and control in intimate relationships, we can inadvertently ignore that much of the violence is occurring in the presence of children. This constant exposure to fear, lack of security and or outright violence has a negative influence in the development of young children impacting their sense of safety, identity and ability to form safe and secure relationships. This series will:
1) explore the dynamics of relationships where Interpersonal Violence is present;
2) will identify how this impacts the development of young children; and,
3) will offer opportunities to reflect on our own beliefs, biases and perspectives and how they impact our ability to support families.
All providers who work with families of children prenatal-to-five years old are welcome to register.
