First 5 Monterey County's impact on the community is measured through evaluation efforts as a way to learn what is going well, including how lives are changing. Evaluation helps our Funded Partners tell the story of their work and regularly reflect on how their services impact families. It shines light on programs to determine if participants are the people funded partners intend to serve and if modifications are needed. Through evaluation, programs and conditions for people and organizations improve. Evaluation planning takes place with program planning and is a prerequisite for First 5 Monterey County funding. Our evaluation efforts are supported through the work of staff and the Evaluation Advisory Committee.
Over the past year, F5MC staff, with the support of the Evaluation Advisory Committee, have been developing an overall Theory of Change and strategy-specific logic models to clarify and document how F5MC intends to implement its Strategic Plan and yield change in all four impact areas. View the latest version of the Theory of Change.

We are deeply grateful for the many individuals and organizations that help us make a difference in the lives of young children and their families in Monterey County. Together, we are shaping our community into a place where every child reaches their unique potential within a family and community that values, respects, and invests in early childhood.
